Posting a little late. Miner emergency fixed and then my husband wanted to discuss a new conspiracy theory. Now he’s off researching some of the plausible points that I made and isn’t too happy. I have been working hard on a story that was supposed to be short but when I’m done I think I’m going to have to break it up into smaller posts. I did a little research into today prompt and discovered that there are more to rocks than just it being a rock. I’m not a geologist but have a new found respect for the field. Rock on geologist (yup, pun intended).

Doodle(s)wash: 6/11

Today’s prompt was a little upbeat one that gave me a chance to think back to when my dad would man the grill. He would put beer in the BBQ sauce, ‘This is the secret that people ask for without knowing.’ Looking back, that was sound advice that really doesn’t have to do with food. But food, beer, and trusting company is a great way to get problems off your chest without knowing it’s needed.

Doodle & Doodlewash: 5/22

Today was an off day for me. I did not care about my job at all today. I don’t know if it’s burnout or the people I work with. Of course, my commercial graphic design job doesn’t give me much leeway to be creative and that doesn’t help either. I was excited to do these challenges.

There is a field behind my house and from time to time there is a curious mouse that ends up in my kitchen. My husband can’t kill anything but spiders. I, on the other hand, having my own snakes, had NO problem killing the little suckers. I do wish we could have a cat to do the dirty work but I don’t think it would survive our dogs.

I haven’t seen a ladybug since I move up here but they something called an Asian beetle that looks similar to a ladybug. I was warned about them being a nuisance and have a foul odor when stepped on.

As for my doodlewash challenge, the prompt was surprisingly fun to do. I didn’t think it would be fun painting food but I can’t wait to see if there are more prompts for food this month.

Doodlewash: 5/7

Today was just an extension of last week. Then learning I can’t take a vacation at Christmas because the other woman took the week off! She has done this 3 years in a row now. Come to find out she does it the day when she get’s back. I came home, made dinner, cleaned the kitchen, folded newspapers (my daughter has a paper route and track), I looked forward to painting. The only thing is that I wished I had planned out my space better. Still fun and relaxing. My husband is urging me to quit and write my novellas and freelance but we do need two steady incomes not just his and my wishes. I think I’ll paint something else or work on my novella. Truth, I’ll probably lay down.
