365 Day Post: 94

Ok… it’s not what it looks like.  Ugh, it is but not as bad as it could be. This late post is brought to you by a woman with so much to do and so little time.  Picture it, leave work and pick up kids,  rush home and cook dinner.  From there figure out meal plan for camping trip and go shopping for trip. Also need to make something for a dish to pass so fudge it is. Now that all the shopping is done I had to pack and bake fudge. I have an interview tomorrow so I need to prepare for tomorrow and the camping trip.  I didn’t feel like making my lunch and picked up a salad instead.

365 Day Project: 92

There’s a baseball game happening and when I went out to catch a photo for tonight I was a little bummed. We have a storm moving in and the field lights drowned out the storm clouds. I drove to a seasonal drive-in style diner and the sky still didn’t show up. I think I need to look up some more tutorials for lighting and clouds.

365 Day Project: 82 UPDATED

I’m posting this from our Ostara celebration and I’ll fill in the information tomorrow. I’m glad to post my photo.

UPDATE:
Last night was so much fun. I really wanted to try and take a decent picture of the fire spinning. I think I should have adjusted my ISO and maybe held the phone more still. I really need to get a tripod or Gorillapod for the phone. It was awesome last night but that’s for a different post. I tried to frame the image following the rule of thirds.

365 Day Project: 49

My daughter had a really good idea after I lit a candle and I wish I had worked more with the angle of the cell phone. It was a tight squeeze with the candle, incense burner, and the shadow. I wanted to try my hand at another dramatically edited image and this was a great opportunity. I’m REALLY happy with the final image.

365 Day Project: 42

I don’t know why tonight was so difficult? I couldn’t concentrate on my end goal. I have been running around trying to get everything in order for the storm coming in tonight and after work hours stress could also have something to do with it. My husband was patient with me as we drove around trying to find something that piqued my interest. Then we both saw the shadows from the fencing and the light and thought it would be perfect. What do y’all think? The hex codes for an awesome ‘twilight’ feel for this analogous color palette is listed below from left to right as always.

365 Day Project: 41

I’ve been busy since Saturday morning and looks like there isn’t any slowing down into next week. Add ANOTHER snowstorm on top of everything just adds more time for things to get done. My photo for today was actually taken last night. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity of trying my hand at both dark photography and fire. I couldn’t get the streaks of flames to happen even after working with the pro settings in my phone.

This was taken at the Disting event that my husband, son and I attended and I’m glad that we did. More on that later, I’m tired and will be catching up on comments and emails in the morning. Have a great and safe evening Y’all.

365 Day Project: 32

Day 32 but February 1st. I almost put that it was the first day because it’s the first month. I’m tired and exhausted. I really shot this ‘from the hip’. My husband was driving us to dinner and I demanded that he stopped the car. I thought where we were sitting it was framed nicely and the beautiful colors were a breath of fresh air after almost an entire week of Polar Vortex colors. Color palette (custom as I wanted to catch as many beautiful colors as I could) hex codes are listed left to right. Have a great night everyone. Now I’m going to overthink my comic for tomorrow.

365 Day Project: 25

All I can say is at least I made my midnight deadline. It’s unbelievably freezing so I hate to admit that all I did was roll down the window and moved the car forward to capture this photo.  But, WOW! How did I get something to look so regal? This is actually a house that my husband and I made a bid on when we first moved to the state. I didn’t realize how much money was required to maintain a home like this and the rules. This house is located on a historic block and homeowners have a specific set of rules set by the town that need to be followed. It’s a good thing that we were outbid because I don’t do rules all that well.

365 Day Project: 24

The temperatures are dropping to a deathly cold -°32 starting tonight into tomorrow. I left to drop the kiddos off for their sister only dinner and it was °22  and 45 minutes later it was °16 NOT including windchills. I decided that I would try to take an image earlier than usual but still getting dark. I thought this picture captured the pure cold and bitterness outside but a warm hearth family inside. Try to contrast cold and warm in a photo and I thought it turned out better than I expected.
