365 Day Project: 79

Tonight’s post is a bit late. I took my husband to the library to get his card. There I learned that they put puzzles together in their free time. I had a wonderful idea that would help me cope with my past but that will be for another post. Tonight’s photo is of a character figure that my son threw in my purse and I discovered it. Sitting there…begging for a photo-op.

365 Day Project: 69

Today was a busy day for a Sunday but that’s for a different post. Today’s image is of a new art medium I’m wanting to get better at…Henna. I went the black and white route for this one because it seems to suit the image subject better. I’m running late posting this. Thanks, daylight savings time (that was pure sarcasm).

365 Day Project: 58

I’m not going to write about the absolute meltdown I had when I got home in this post but I did take my photo project to work with me. I built this little Lego character, Wyldstyle, in just a minute or so and have been waiting for the perfect idea to hit. Doing this also made me realize how relaxing it was and helped me cope with anxiety. I wish I wasn’t so self-conscience about people watching what I’m doing but the overall image turned out great. Would this palette be considered complimentary?

365 Day Project: 46

I had to take my daughter to work since my husband is working late tonight. It even hurts my stomach to drive. UGH, and it’s really starting to annoy me. By the hospital is a little junk/salvage yard that seems to be closed more than it is opened. I wanted to play with the editing filters in snapseed and perspective blue. I like the bright dramatic touch the end image has and the complementary color palette is warm even though the subject is cold (there’s a lot of snow). Happy Friday guys! I’m working on catching up on things from my bed 🙂

One Whole Year!

A year! I made it a year without smoking! Maybe I cheated by using Chantix but it worked for me. The dreams were hilarious! Now don’t get me wrong, there are times that I really want a cigarette. Like the times when my teen is tap dancing on my very last nerve. Or how about the times that I have chores crying with urgency to get done but my depression has a nice warm hug around me. Or even the times that I’m around people that are lighting cigarettes left and right and I’m sitting there holding a bottle of water like an adult (something that I wish I didn’t have to be at times).

I guess the point is, I had a goal a year ago and it’s been a year since I picked up a cigarette. I don’t have much in way of goals this year but focusing more on my new Norse heathen path, family, and maybe now and then get a doodle and some kind of writing done. Oh, and of course another job. But today, I’m just happy I made a year of something without quitting or giving up.

Have any of you completed a goal from a year ago? Either way, how do you feel about it? Are you going to try again? Are you going to try something else? Happy Monday everyone!

365 Day Project: 12

As I suspected, I’m doing this part from my phone which I hate doing. What’s worse is the entire day I had planned was ruined. Let’s just say my husband and I are arguing again and I got so upset I walked into a random restaurant snapped this and walked out. I didn’t notice the cutter little kid in the upper left.

I’ll have to get to my laptop in the morning to update with hex codes. Happy Saturday everyone.

365 Day Project: 8

My husband assisted in driving me around so I can continue my project. I had my eye exam this afternoon and had my eyes dilated for the first time. That sums up what I was able to see. I picked this image because the colors were easy for me to decipher shapes with my dilated pupils. I think I was even able to nail an analogous color palette. Hex colors are listed below from left to right. Off to bed to rest my eyes…more on that later. Have a great evening.

365 Day Project: 4

Today I accomplished most of what I wanted to get done because I was in such a hurry to take today’s photo. I panicked because I was losing light. I have found a new excitement in this project’s objective trying to push myself to do more. Go outside my comfort zone and for this one I actually got out of the car! I took several photos but this is the one that I kept coming back to. I almost cried because what I tried WORKED! This is a puddle image!

I still have a long way to go and now I want to look into preventing graininess and better night cell photography. The hex codes are below and I think I nailed a split complementary color palette. Have a safe weekend everyone!

365 Day Project: 3

I am more pleased with today’s photo than the first two. I found a great Skillshare class that doesn’t take to much of my time and offered some great pointers in the first few sections that I watched. Before I we headed out I made sure to download the two apps that were suggested.

I actually went outside to take this photo after the family and I had pizza at our favorite place. Just used the first one that the instructor demonstrated but WOW. I worked with lighting and composition and then did some editing in the app. I didn’t add all the extra edits because I wanted to capture pure color tones. The Hex values are listed below as I still haven’t found a way to have them added on top of the swatches. I think I even managed to pull off a triadic scheme.  Was there improvement? I hope so. No gallery posting because WordPress is giving me a hard time.
