365 Day Project: 65

I have been in a slump since lunch. Maybe it’s the week of stress so far catching up? Maybe I’m not challenged enough (I kind of call BS on that)? Or maybe, it’s my soul that’s tired. I have a phone interview to prepare for and making notes for both technical questions and obvious general questions. I would like to get my hopes up but I’m going to err on the side of caution and keep more realistic.

I’ve been refreshing my coding skills and WOW! If you don’t lose it you definitely lose it. Made dinner and cake to thank the hubby for working overtime so I am wearing down. This little lost kitty image helped brighten my day. I tried choosing a monochromatic palette but wondering now if it qualifies.

365 Day Project: 62

Today, started early. I had planned on getting so much done but then kiddos woke up. Super glad that the hubby pushed to take me to a fundraising event that supports the local pagan community but also where the kindred had a booth. It was awesome sitting there talking with everyone and I learned so much in so little time about Norse beliefs and ways. I also walked away with two goals for myself. One is a little more difficult than the other but those are for a late post.

This morning I completed a small goal of building the lego set that my husband purchased. I zone all the stress and anxiety out. I put my earbuds in that played an audiobook in my ears and my hands and eyes went to work. I decided I need larger sets that have more bricks and larger scale but the Harry Potter Aragog’s Lair was exactly what the doctor ordered and helped me prepare for the socializing that I did today.

The picture I took is a perfect example of how I feel at times so it’s symbolic to me.

Coffee shop date with my younger kiddo was fun. He brought his tablet and toys to take pictures of and I was able to show him how to use the natural light that was available. His pictures turned out pretty good with the camera app that’s available on the Kindle. I went towards the moody side of things and even tried choosing a color palette that isn’t what you would think of warm, ‘coffee shop’ tones. This little lost kitty sure looks happy to get his coffee.

I learned something new today about my employer but that’s for a different post. This little guy was SUPER hard to take a picture of with the cell phone. I didn’t even care who seen me walking with it. I wanted something ominous and lurking and I think I only achieved a part of that. Still not bad for a little toy.

365 Day Project: 59

Between getting off work and picking up the kids from school I have 15 minutes to get to the coffee shop. I promised that I would buy myself an iced coffee after work and in order for me to get one I had to call ahead. I took this quick and thought, ‘why not?’ I like the style of lights that our local shop has. I wish I was brave enough to take more lifestyle images and I feel kind of exposed without one of my toys or action figures.

I’m not going to write about the absolute meltdown I had when I got home in this post but I did take my photo project to work with me. I built this little Lego character, Wyldstyle, in just a minute or so and have been waiting for the perfect idea to hit. Doing this also made me realize how relaxing it was and helped me cope with anxiety. I wish I wasn’t so self-conscience about people watching what I’m doing but the overall image turned out great. Would this palette be considered complimentary?

I’m so glad to be home and able to be creative. I completely zoned out staging my Jurrasic park figure with eggs. The stress at work then the white knuckle ride home makes me that more appreciative of home and loved ones. I have some research to do on how to take an awesome black and white selfie and then some much-needed writing time.

I almost said, ‘FU%$ IT!’ and went to bed after the day I had. Who knew that sticking up for yourself to ensure sanity was a crime? I also took another assessment on a job website which I’m pretty sure I failed and just…it was just a Monday, to say the least.

As I was searching for an idea for my photo for today I just wasn’t feeling it. Found this little guy and started staging with toilet paper and found that the anxiety was starting to calm inside me. It was great to feel excitement and purpose doing my project and it was about time (today). I need to take a black and white portrait photo of myself so I think I’ll focus on that tomorrow.

365 Day Project: 55

It was the wind that woke me up in the middle of the night. Well, that and the pelting rain and then an hour later it was high wind and snow. We can’t catch a break here in Wisconsin. Instead of staying inside or being able to drive anywhere (as in the roads are icy and treacherous with the blowing snow), I decided to go right out in my front yard. My husband found me an Elsa doll by the registers and I thought it would be a perfect day to use her.

The wind was horrible and I couldn’t feel my fingers. There were several trips in and out of the house to get breaks but I was able to build a small snowman to accompany the queen. Now that I’m running late thanks to an, ‘I told you so,’ conversation with my mother I can catch my breath and get down to some much-needed art and writing therapy.
