Doodle(s)wash: 6/29

I was super excited about today’s prompt simply because I could put a steampunk spin on it. Absolutely adore all things steampunk and I think a parasol (in place of today’s prompt) is in that alley. Now I’m off to try and see if I can stay within my points for a dinner out with the family. Fingers crossed I can stay away from the bread basket.

Prompt: Umbrella

Doodle(s)wash: 6/24-6/25

Still working on playing catch-up and this felt really good. Painting and doodling was just the relaxing activity I needed in a quiet house after a crazy Monday. I still have some catching up to do but we’re going to start here. GRR…WP is having issues AGAIN. I day it works like it’s supposed to and the next it doesn’t. It doesn’t even do any good to report the issue.

6/24-Pool: Still one line and dots. I tried to capture a ripple effect in the water. Didn’t turn out how I like but still like the style that I’m developing.
6/24-Pool: This is an inflatable pool but leave it to me to make it look creepy and ominous.
6/25-Strawberry: It’s all one line except for the dots.
6/25: Strawberry: This is what I get for dieting. Chocolate covered strawberry individual cheesecakes…YUM!

Doodle(s)wash: 6/23

Taking a quick break from the weekend chores to complete my doodle(s)wash. Right now, I carry a backpack to accommodate my healthier eating habits. There are a lot of containers for healthy snacks to keep me from the vending machines, lunch to keep me from going across the street to the burger place, vitamins, and other essentials.

Prompt Word: Backpack

Doodle(s)wash and Storms: 6/19-6/20

I knew it was going to be a late night but I didn’t know it was going to be this late. I’m still waiting for the rain to move out so I can walk. My husband said I should just wait in the morning but I just can’t. I cooked dinner, signed up for a couple of writing courses (Grotesque Angels is on hold), painted, cleaned up, and now waiting for this rain to move. And what in the hell is going on with WP? If I get told to do the obvious one more time I’m going to scream. Pardon the mess of image posts.

I’m still doing my doodles with one line and pleased with the character that develops. I’m also practicing on a looser style of watercolor-not caring for it to much but will still practice. It’s stopped raining so I’m heading out for my walk. Have a great night everyone.

Prompt 6/18: Picnic

Doodle(s)wash: 6/11

Today’s prompt was a little upbeat one that gave me a chance to think back to when my dad would man the grill. He would put beer in the BBQ sauce, ‘This is the secret that people ask for without knowing.’ Looking back, that was sound advice that really doesn’t have to do with food. But food, beer, and trusting company is a great way to get problems off your chest without knowing it’s needed.

Prompt Word: Barbecue

Doodle(s)wash: 6/10

Today is an overcast cloudy day. One of those that almost demand movies and a bed. I decided that I would paint and write a little instead. Today’s prompt reminded me of home so much. It was served on the porch, at crawfish boils, even kept in the fridge as a staple (no matter what time of the year and always sweetened). But my absolute favorite time to have a glass was with my father when I was a little girl watching the lightning bugs.

Prompt Word: Iced Tea

Doodle(s)Wash: 6/1

It’s June 1st. My head is still swimming from excitement about the Fenton Friday idea that I nearly forgot to do my doodles. I’m going to make things a little simpler on myself and instead of going back and forth between two prompt sites, I’ll take one prompt and use that for both exercises.

I’ve always been envious of the people who can doodle amazing images with one line (human etch and sketches let me tell ya) and decided that I’m going to practice that this month with my doodles. Outside of one line, there will be a few dots and squiggles. And I’m sticking with Doodlewash. Hey, it keeps me painting.

This is what I came up with. Don’t forget to check out Fenton and share to spread the word (we need your help). Have a lovely Friday.

Prompt: Sun
